Question found this part in the passenger footwell - what is it?

found this part rattling around the passenger-side footwell after a short trip home from work! i presume it dropped down from under the dash!

does anybody know what it is?

if not, can somebody [everybody] have a look up under there & see where it goes & what it does!

cheers

gary

Hi Gary

That's the pipe that feeds cold air from the air con unit to the glove box. If you were to take the glove box out, it is easy to see where it goes. However, that's a right pain and the pipe will drop off when you try to put the glove box back anyway. If you can, get a look in under the glove box to get a better idea of where it fits or feel around the back of it behind where the outlet is in the glovebox. To fit, slot the glove box end on first, then it should be easier to locate the other end on the air con outlet. Alternatively, if close to your dealers, get them to do it. It's one of those things that when you know how to do it, it only takes mere seconds.

Hope that helps.

legendary...

thanks SO much for the input!

it's getting late here, so i'll have a look in the morning!

the dealer's not too far away, but the traffic's a real pain - i'll have a go myself first!

cheers

Mate, you're screwed. That isn't for the glovebox, that is the hydraulic suspension/supercharger boost intecooler balancer tube.

You see, when you're into it, the charger blows more air into the hydrolastic suspension system, firming the ride. Without that little tube, it's highly probable that all the suspension fluid could go spraying into the cabin, and you'll wear the underside of the car away as it drops into "Rice" position.

Did that help

Clubman less....
