Offline | New coolant tank in Los Angeles Ok I tried searching and couldnt find it so if its been answered just direct me there. Where in L.A. area can I take my MCS to get the revised coolant tank? The one piece? I took mine in to Nick Alexander twice already because it leaked and the first time they replaced it with the same kind and after 5 months of winter driving it leaked again. So today I took it back for the my first 13K service and they said they have the new one, so I get it back at 5:30pm and its the same one again but this time more yellow. Two piece fused into one than the 1 piece I see some people have. I guess I should have went in an asked but I am sure they would have given me some guff since they did replace it and I was tired and wanted to go home. Any one direct me to a Mini service in L.A. that will replace it for the revised 1 piece version? I dont want to have to keep going in for the same tank and when the warranty is out be charged for it. Thanks Mini people |

Offline | Yes they have fixed it 2 times as of right now but it appears to be the same type. The tank that has the seam. I saw pictures of a tank with no seam and was wondering where I could get that one instead. |

Offline | Actually I just spoke with someone else and was told the yellow tank IS the new tank. Supposedly its from a different manufacturer and is not suppose to leak anymore. I guess time will tell. Although this still makes me curious as to who got the 1 piece tanks and where those came from. |

Offline | I picked up my MCS 2 days ago (will post pics this weekend)and the tank showed evidence of a leak a the seam when I inspected the car before delivery. My motoring assistant claimed no knowledge of the problem. He did however, bring a minitech by to look. They changed the bottle while I waited. The old bottle was almost white in color while the new one is yellow and quite opaque. I'm amazed that the factory is still using the old tanks. Now to the question. Has someone really seen a one piece tank? Thanks |

Offline | Guess I'll find out about the different tanks. Mine started leaking kind'a bad during the recent Deal's Gap run. Did make it home OK and will call for an appointment next week. Been too busy this week, catching up at work ![]() Sam ![]() |
