Question New engine belt?

Quote:
BOB HEAPE said: Also agent has told me they will be fitting a new type of engine belt as they have discovered they are noisey on start up. I believe it is a recall.

Just thought I would quote BOB HEAPE on this as it may get overlooked. It was part of a thread in Exterior Styling.
Anyone else heard of this?

A few owners have reported a squeaky belt, possibly the alternator belt. A slipping belt should hardly be enough to warrant a recall. More than likely it will be in the form of a dealer bulletin to replace it if it is noisy.

Actually I had noticed I get a squeaky belt type noise when I start up but it disappears after about a minute.

It was acceptable in the 80's
