United-Kingdom Back to Dealer?

After a not too bad 9 week wait, picked up my All Black MC on Saturday. And despite the weather, have just spent the day blasting across Salisbury plain confirming not only that my Auto-Wipers work, but also that this is the most sure footed little car I've ever driven! And only 985 miles to go before I can really rev her up and have some fun

However, there are a few little niggles and I was wondering if these were usual MINI traits that I should live with, or something I should be contacting my dealer about...

Vibrating Rear View Mirror
With the S/Suspension set-up I expect the odd wobble, but the mirror is rendered virtually unusable when on the motorway and it becomes downright distracting when it's dark.

Scratched Interior Door Pillar
It's clear that this has been caused by the metal part of the seatbelt hitting the seatbelt pillar on the drivers side. I've only gotten out of the car twice since I've owned it, so I'm not taking the blame!

Glovebox rattle
A common problem judging by other posts, but am I being a fussy new Mini owner, or should I be on the phone to Mini PDQ?

Great site. Will post pics soon.

The bean counters probably figured it was cheaper to paint the interior plastic surfaces rather than mix the color when the pieces were made. There are lots of threads on this. If you wear sunblock and touch the painted surfaces, the paint may come off. Several people have complained about the ease at which the plastic surfaces can be scratched. Others have mentioned how soft the paint is on the logo in center of the steering wheel. Some have gotten these parts replaced by the dealer, but there will be a limit to how many times they will do that. So if you want your car to look new longer, be extra careful.

Unfortunately, it's to be expected with a new car but you don't have to accept it.

In particular, the mirror (never heard of this problem before?) and other rattles, you should definately take it back to the dealer and ask them to sort it out. They'll be more thank happy to I'm sure (speaking from experience).

You're the one that has to live with it everyday and I'm afraid those rattles won't go away unless they are sorted.

Good luck
