| MINI2 Newbie | Hi all My car has had its christening bump :-( Some stupid old person lost control of there shopping trolley and it hit my rear bumper making a dent in the chrome insert. My question is - How easy is it to take off the chrome insert without removing the whole rear bumper. Is this even possible? Does anyone know how much a replacement chrome insert is?? Cars great otherwise apart from the disabled Minidisc player due to it draining my battery - getting that fixed on Tuesday. Cheers Dan Proud owner of CVT Chilli Pack with Climate Control - Silver / Black Cooper. |

Offline | I'm not sure but i think the chrome is realy plastic. I have had both front chrome changed although i have not seen how they fit i was told they clip on but are not so easy to remove without damaging them, but yours is gubbed anyway. best get the new one first then you can see from that. ![]() |

Offline | Hi, Hate to say that I need to replace my rear chrome insert too. Could anyone tell me how to replace it? Is it easy enough to do it myself? Aside from dealers, are there places where I can order the part? Thanks! Sam 2003 Cooper VR/W |

Offline | rear bumper insert should be aroun $18-20 ... it is attached with clips cut into the bumper, clips sometimes have a spot of glue on them to prevent rattles so it will take a little effort but shouldn't be overly difficult. |
