Bonnet/Boot warning light

The bonnet/boot warning light is now permanently on in my MCS. Both the bonnet and the boot appear to be securely shut but the alarm no longer flickers the warning light when I lock the car. Has anyone else had this problem?

It coincided with the alarm going off for the first time today while the car was in the works car park alone and unmolested. I assume that when whatever has failed did so, it triggered the alarm.
