| MINI2 Regular | New Problem? Electrical? Bad Fan? I dunno Tonight when I put my Mini in the garage everything was normal, then I opened the hatch to retrieve some items and slammed it. Just then the engine cooling fan came on!!! I waited 30 seconds or so to see what happened and nothing did, so I started the car and shut it off and the fan shut off also and it did NOT happen again after I repeated the hatch opening as I had just done. It was 113 degrees so could the car think it was hot??? Electrical problem??? Dunno...anyone had this problem Thanks a million Randy Watts Silk Green 2002 Cooper Premium Package (A/C Sunroof Multifunction Steering wheel) Tinted windows, TSW R-System Rims and 17" Yokahama Tires. |

Offline | Hondas I used to own before used to trigger the engine cooling fan after the car was parked and shut off. 113F in dry desert heat is pretty demanding on any car. I would not worry about it, really. '02 MINI Cooper CVT On Order: 2004 MCS (Est production date: 9/5/03) |

Offline | Think the fan just came on because the car was hot. A lot of cars do this when you turn the engine off/come to a stop as there is no air being forced in to help cool it. Red/Black R56 Cooper |
