Has anyone had problems with their run flat indicator on MCS....?

At weekend when it was very hot my warning light came on to suggest that i had a flat but when i spoke to mini emergency helpline they suggested it was due to the very hot weekend temperatures ...?

It has since been fine but only yesterday it started to flash again.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so is it just a question of air temp/lack of presseure in the tyres ..?

My flat-tire monitor flashed a couple of weeks ago, turned out that one tire was 2psi low. No problems, though; the reset was easy, just like the manual states.

I had this happen on a MC a few weeks ago. Pressures were all the same, no variation at all. Reset and had dealer check out. No fault codes and nothing they could find. You might do a search on this site. There are other threads discussing this and an apparently related DSC light problem.

When you adjust youre tyre pressures(done when tyres are cold)you carry out recalibration of the RPA/RDC/DDS (Call it what you may) By turning the ignition on fully but not starting the engine,press and hold the RDC button in for approx 6-8 seconds until the warning light is displayed in the cluster which is in about 3-4 seconds,this then instructs the RDC System to adopt the current tyre pressues as the setpoint to monitor any loss of pressue to.

Depending on the driving style and conditions the learning process can take between 45 minutes and several hours to complete.

However the system is already armed for any loss in pressure after 10 minutes and can detect air pressure losses of approx 50%. As the calibration process continues the warning thresholds are decreased to 40% and then 30% , so it can detect smaller losses of pressure the more it carries out its learning process.
