Static

Hi guys...I think I might have a problem with my Mini Cooper...
okay...
the problem is...whoever touches the door handle...they got zapped (like the static thing)
especially when I got out of the car and close the door by pushing the door handle.
I know this might be caused by the static...but it is a possibility to have an electrical fault...I can tell because this once happened to my Civic (which happened to be the alarm electrical fault)
Has anyone had this kinda fault b4?
any suggestions are appreciated

This became a really common complaint more than a year ago now, my Cooper used to shock me a lot, my new S doesn't. The Cooper had full leather, the S half leather seats, but I can't see that would make THAT much difference.

Here's an older, bigger conversation on the subject: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...light=shocking a search for static and also shock* should bring more results, and maybe a cure?

Ha, I see that I was the Last Contributer to that Subject Back in April, so My Solution Must Have Worked

Here it is again :-

Same shoes / Weather conditions
Different Paint / Wheels.
I found that if you make a Quick Deliberate Grab at the door Handle any Shock would be Less than that if Nervously Touching it awaiting for the Inevitable Shock.
Give this technique a try or Simply buy an MCS.
