Question How do you remove the black strips either side of the windscreen?

How do you take off those shiny black strips of plastic on the pillars either side of the windscreen? I presume they are just attached with clips and pop off. They were removed before to change the windscreen (wish I'd bothered to watch them do it now!)

Need to remove them to fit a sunstrip properly underneath that section.

Any help would be greatful and there's rep in it for you ho's

One of Abis just popped itself off, maybe just wait a while?

Seriously though I'm pretty sure they're just clipped into place, but I woulnd't want to go pulling at them as they may well be "one way" clips, that will break when you pull them off.

I'd wait for dealer/experienced input on this one..... anyone?!

Groovy, I heard they changed the clip design. Shouldn't fall off so easy now I would say!

Well I guess this answers the question of who the biggest rep ho's are

Seriously guys thanks for the input. Mine is a Nov '01 car. I'm sure I don't remember the windscreen fitter using a screwdriver so maybe I have the ones that just fall off

I'll check it out and let you know. Maybe a quick write up and a few pics maybe in order.

Rep on the way guys...

Looks like I've given you too much rep already Max and won't let me give you any more for the time being. Cheers for the info though. Top man

Ginge - Take extra special care when putting then back on !!! - It is VERY easy to overtighten the Phillips screw and the plastic splits even easier - AndyW had one of mine spear! his windscreen at a ton due to this

Cheers Racer I'll bare that in mind. I'm always wary of plastic anyway. I'll only do them up enough to hold them on, not to hold them tight!
