Vibration accelerating hard in 1st gear?

I accelerated hard in 1st gear for the first time in my MC today and the car seemed to lurch and vibrated as I shifted to 2nd. Is this the stumble that people mention, or could it be the traction control kicking in? Haven't experienced this with any other cars I've had in the past.
