Clutch problem!!!

Hi, everyone. I just got my MC-manual on Feb 28. And i have been trying to how to drive manual for a bit while. Something happened. The clutch is burned out and it smells weird. Finally the car towed away back to the dealership. Whats going on with my car? The car is on only 40 km. Isnt that funny? Well, sucks to be me!

They should'nt be charging to replace clutch on new car.

Thought that would be a warranty repair but I think a burnt out clutch comes under the wear and tear part which warranty does'nt cover.

Ask them if it is covered by warranty just incase.

No that's wrong. No matter how hard you ride the clutch, it shouldn't burn out at only 40km. DO NOT pay the dealer. You had a defective clutch for it to wear out at only 40km. You should demand they replace it. But that seems easier said then done...

Can not speak for candain warranty's as all countries are different but the US warranty specifically precludes the clutch from warranty as it is a wearable item (similair to tires, wipers and bulbs)

Appeal the clutch failure at 40km to a regional service manager. In other words go around and over the dealer service manager. A clutch should never ever fail at 40 km unless it has been ridden for hundreds if not thousands of hours at high rpms.
Do not accept the dealers response without a second qualified opinion - namely the regional service manager.

Wow, I was counting on killing my clutch before the warranty expired anyways, thats a tough one! Get a rental to practice in and have a friend (who drives a manual) give you some pointers, a full day of practice should be all you need. good luck!

MAYBE you could burn a clutch out in 40 k's if thats what you set out to do, but unlikley.

Even if your a really really bad manual driver
