I've searched through 30 odd pages to find an answer to this one, and no joy

Yesterday after driving to work (engine warm) I pulled up at a kerb to talk to someone through passenger window. I know all about the steering whine, rattles etc. But car began making a ffttss sound from engine bay. Like cold water droplets hitting red hot metal. Every few seconds but not in a pattern. Fan did come on with the extra noises it brings with it(!) Very odd and a little worrying. Also did it when started from cold later on that night.

3000 miles only on clock. Any ideas??

Let it cool and then check the fluid levels, just for peace of mind.....dont forget, it has been raining

Could be!!

Levels are all fine. Did 600 miles yesterday and no noises. Probably having an off day!
