MCS Dipstick

Hello All

Being a new MCS owner - 2 weeks in and loving it. Tried to check the oil (used to own a Ford Puma that would get through 1 litre every 900 miles so I have got into the habit)

How do you work out the level? are the min & max marks between the rough parts of the dipstick or is it the smooth bit to the rought bit?

I would take a picture but the wife has nicked the car again!!

Thanks for your help

Nope. My handbook here in the States only illustrates the Cooper's all steel, notched dipstick. It does not even mention that of the MCS.

BTW...I think max level is indicated by the whole textured part having been immersed in oil.

Keep the oil on the textured part of the knob.

Here's a good piece of information about the MCS dipstick that I learned recently:

You can remove and insert the dipstick much more easily if you give it about a half-turn twist while you remove and insert it. I don't think it matters which direction you turn it, for some reason it doesn't seem to stick nearly as much as when you don't twist it.
