Hello people,
Ive just bought my first and definatly not my last mini. Its a standard Mini One and i have noticed that there is a rather lound noise which i think relates to the power steering. would be very greatful if someone could clear this up on whether its normal or not as i am still under warranty.

This is just the power steering pump noise, nothing to worry about.

There are loads of threads on this, try doing a search.

The whine from the power steering is nothing to worry about.

Totally normal.

Yep, that sound comes standard with all MINIs.

Completely normal, and no way of getting rid of it. Unless you get a super loud exhaust!

You'll grow to like it (if you don't already). It's just one of the features that gives the MINI its character!

Chilli Red with White Roof, Chilli Pack, ASC+T, SSP, Climate Control,17" S-Spoke Alloys, Harmon Kardon, CD-Changer, Multi function steering wheel, White Stripes and BMW Aero Kit.
