Offline | Are my windows messing with my mind? Every once in a while, I come out to my car to find the rear of the sunroof popped fully up, and both windows down about 1.5 inches each. Each window is down an identical distance, and far further down than I would leave em intentionally. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on here? The one thought I have is that my remote keyfob does not work all that well. If I want to unlock both doors and the boot, I seem to have to click it about a dozen times. Is it possible that I occasionally stumble onto some sort of 'cheat code' (a la video games) that is causing the windows to do this when I am clicking the remote. Has anyone else had a problem like this? 04 BRG/W MCS |

Offline | You could be pressing the open button for too long. Stand near the car with finger on open button for 5 secs, the windows and s/roof should open. Nothing but after after and more s! |

Offline | Interesting. I thought for some reason that the key had to be in the lock for comfort opening to work. It appears that if the car is fully locked, I can standby it forever with the keyfob button pressed and nothing will happen. But if I unlock all three doors (which takes a minimum of three clicks, or even more if I space the clicks too closely together), then all I need to do is hold the button for about three seconds before everything opens itself up. Are there any more tricks in store for me here? 04 BRG/W MCS |

Offline | Been there before! It seems that the keys have pressed by accident in my pocket, and left it open for anyone to get in and do what they like! Luckily, it hasn't happened anywhere that people have taken the advantage, but it will only be a matter of time! I'l be getting this switched off at my next visit to my dealer, it just seems like a rather stupid idea! ![]() Indi Blue MINI One, born November 2002 |

| MINI2 Master | I can't understand how your keys could press so easily in your pocket? Are the buttons on your key really sensitive? I really have to give it a firm press to unlock the car and too frequently, if I use the comfort open, a slight relaxing of pressure on the button stops the Roof and Windows from opening. If the buttons on your key fob are sensitive, try your other key. It's identical and the button might be less easy to press. Also, If you unlock your MINI but don't actually do anything, the doors should automatically re-lock themselves after 2 minutes. This was on by default on my MINI. Try it. Unlock your MINI, don't do anything and wait for a couple of minutes to see if it locks. If not, maybe contact your dealer to have that feature enabled |
