Child seat anchors

I have had a not so pleasent experience with the service department at my dealership and I want to make sure I am not going crazy, and my complaint is valid (even though they say it isn't).
I believe that the child anchors that are at the base of the back seat are securely locked into place within that rectangular plastic piece with the hinged door. Prior to having my car worked on, and subsequently having the backseat removed and reinstalled, these plastic covers didn't move around if you touched them with your hand. The metal bar within them was securely locked into them. Now they are loose and moved up and down. I took the car back to the dealer and they said that they are supposed to be loose so that when someone sits in the backseat they move up and down as to not poke the person in the back. They even offered to show it to me on another MINI but I was so annoyed I didn't bother. Plus what is to say that the seat in that MINI hadn't been removed also.
Can someone check their backseat, preferrebly one that hasn't been removed to see how the metal bars are positioned within the plastic housing. Thanks in advance.

RIP Boo

I'll be able to check later (in case somone beats me to it). The bar itself is part of the car, so that wont move, but I'm not sure on the plastic bits. I know they do have play in them, but not sure how much.

I know the bars are part of the car, I was under the impression that the plastic pieces snap onto the bar, which basically holds the seat in place. This is how they appeared to be before the seat was removed. However I was told the bars do not snap into the back plastic housing, which I don't think is correct.
Since pob said his don't move, I am gonna go with my first instinct and say that the plastic housing is supposed to snap onto the bars. Once again the service department at the dealership hasn't a clue as to what they are talking about.

They do move on mine, but they're not lose or wobbly by any stretch of the imagination.

OK, thanks. You can actually grab the plastic housing and move it around on mine, like in the outline of a circle. Looks like I will have to try and fix it myself.
