| MINI2 Master | Outward Dent in Hood My MINI is only a few weeks old, and Friday I discovered a small outward dent in my hood/bonnet/fender. It looks as if someone tapped a nail from the inside. But the hood hasn't been opened for weeks! Upon inspection there is a second layer of metal slightly behind it so I don't see how anything could have gone in there and done it. Any idea what in the world could have caused it? But more importantly, what's the recomended fix? Should I try tapping it back in lightly with a hammer, covered with a cloth or something? I assume I should instead talk to a dent place. But again it's wierd because it's outward! Not to mention it just seemed to appear out of nowhere. Here's a pic: |

Offline | Can't see much from the picture. I had a couple of dents in my MCS and was really devastated. $100 later at Dent Wizard and I was fealing a whole lot better. They did a miraculous job. DO NOT try to fix it yourself. Dave |

| MINI2 Master | My dealer just responded and recommended Dent Wizard as well. Altho browsing their site it appears they only do it at dealers in service, I would rather go to them, I assume it only takes a few minutes. Guess I'll have to call them. It just sucks. ![]() |

Offline | The outward dent, I know the culprits those sneaky Dodge srt-4 drivers! always trying to slow us down! I also highly recommend bringing it to a dent specialist, simply to save you time and more money…. Cause if you made the dent go in or worse larger, then you would be livid! piston |

| MINI2 Master | Just going through my old topics and figured I would bring some close to this. After my accident, I had commented to the body guy it was a shame I needed a whole new hood, as before it I had absolutely no rock chips and only this mysterious outward dent. He knew what it was right away. The hood is double-walled and there are pins/rivets under that spot, that pop out easily if it is pulled or bent. I mentioned that my dealer tried to pull it to make my hood align better and he said that is definitely what did it. |
