Offline | exhaust rattle/buzz? My '02 MCS has, at 22,000 miles, developed a metallic buzzing/rattling sound that seems to be coming from the exhaust (last time the "exhaust" was buzzing, it turned out to be a spring in the passenger seat-back adjuster . . .). From the cockpit, with the windows open, it sounds like it's coming from the left-rear. Nothing, that I can reach with the car on the ground, seems to be loose; any known problems with fittings or heat shielding? It seems to be most prevalent when the car is cold, and it often goes away completely after fifteen-twenty minutes of driving. "I'll shoot for the queen, and you for, well, whomever." |

Offline | I actually scheduled a service appointment to have it resolved, but the sound disappeared the day before my appointment, so I cancelled. Of course, a day later it was back, and now, a week later, it's gone again. I suspect this is going to become pretty irritating. "I'll shoot for the queen, and you for, well, whomever." |

Offline | Yeah, I was right; I'm now approaching 25k, the noise continues to come and go, and it's still irritating. Hopefully, it will still be rattling when I take it in for the 25k service. "I'll shoot for the queen, and you for, well, whomever." |

Offline | You're a lot more patient than I am. I'd have been under there tapping on stuff months ago. Also, The tips of the system are just held on by a single bolt each. They could be rattling as well. |
