Unhappy Where should the violet and red cable next to the cigarette lighter bew connected?

Pleae could anyone help.

I removed the plastic gear stick surround to allow me to run a cable from my ps2 to my stereo. As I did this I noticed a violet/red cable unconnected next to the cigarette lighter cables.

Should this be connected to anything? Or should I earth it to one of the bolts?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

If everything is working, then it would seem that it should not be connected. Perhaps it's part of the harness that is unused for a feature your car does not have. You haven't mentioned that anything electrical is not working.

I would certainly not go connecting wires to ground unless I was damn sure they were ground wires.

Could it be for the heated seats?

as far as i can tell everything is working fine. so maybe i'll just leave it for the time being

i do not have electric seats.

it just seems a bit strange as it has connector on the end of the wire which looks like it might fit over one of the nuts.
