Question Is the SS+ and 17 to Hard and leads to faults??

Ive got a cooper with ss+ and 17, so far my windscren has
been replaced under waranty due to a crack apearing, and
Ive just had my drivers front wheel rim re-sealed due to
air leaking around half of the rim.
Im hoping this will fix the fault, Time will tell though
So i'm just wondering could these faults be linked to the
suspension being too hard or am I talking Crap

You're talking crap.

Seriously though, I've got the same set up and other than a squeeky seat I've got no complaints. If your crack appears again though...

Well went to the BMW dealer and they again try to seem
to just want to shift the blame onto me, by saying I must
have hit something

In the end the tyre guy resealed round the rim! and so far
so good, but make me think why this started? so keep an
eye out just incase we have problems with the tyres.

Also just another note the tyres r like rocking horse s***
at the moment and if u can find one it will cost u over
200quid!!!
Seems to defeat the object of having run flats as if u get
a puncture u might have to wait about a week to get a
replacement

Just as another question can u put normal tyres on the 17s
as I might as well be stranded call the AA and taken to
a tyre place who could stick on any 17 tyre and only cost
about 80 quid???

I would, either get yourself a space saver spare (I've got one even though I've got 16s), or do what space_cadet has done and order the parts for the MINI mobility system separately. The problem with the latter being that it ruins the tyre, meaning it has to be replaced rather than fixed.

Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer.

Exclamation ss+ and cracked windscreen! me too!

GrahamG,

I have a cooper with 16" wheels and ss+ and I bet like me, you love to drive it! My windscreen cracked (right in the middle at the base) and the dealership have had my car for 3 weeks now, basically I told them I don't want it back til the left pull problem is sorted. But they said it was a gesture of goodwill that my windscreen was replaced under warrenty in the duration of the steering repair and nothing else.

Anyone else's views on this???

alex.

I picked up my car from specialist cars in stevenage and
just live a few miles from there.

My windscreen was eventually replaced under warranty after
I called MINI customer services altough dealer was trying
to blame a stone chip, although thier wasn,t any chip on
the screen just a crack.

I just think that most dealer dont give a Fudge!! about customer just purely money, and making sure they dont have
to give anything away

Its an interesting theory as to a source of faults......if its true, imagine the upcoming dental and orthopaedic bills for SS+ and 17" drivers ??.......
