Offline | Bad News for Bigfoot Convincing photographic evidence that no one on the new Mini development team wore size 12 or larger shoes... As shown in the attached pic (presuming it gets thru), the armature for the clutch allows insufficient room for the boat-footed, so that if such a driver depresses the clutch the toe is bent back disconcertingly/awkwardly. At first I thought that a wire-harness was getting in the way... Could there be an aftermarket armature that allows more vertical space? If not, does this mean the Mini will never be used for the 16-clowns-in-a-tiny-car gag, considering the size of clown shoes? J. Compere |

Offline | Hmmmm....... you could possibly save yourself 3/4" by wearing different shoes......coz those ones stick out a long way beyond your big toe!!!. PS. Nothing personal, just an observation. ![]() |

Offline | Absolutely -- Job #1 will be to rush out & get shorter sandals -- but actually I'm (that is, my feet are) size 11 1/2 -- the sandals are twelves. If my feet were twelves I might consider foot surgery, on the other hand, considering how much fun it is to drive -- J. Compere |

| I wear size 12 plus a very small amount. That support bar is one of the first things I noticed. It was like I couldn't get my foot off of the clutch. It seems to be something you get used to after a while. I won't comment on the sandels, everyone else already has. |

Offline | I'm size 11's (although my latest trainers are a size 12 (as the Adidas shoes seemed strangely to have shrunk) and I don't have a problem. I'll try and get some photo's to demonstrate! ![]() |

Offline | Oh my lord, socks and sandles!! I thought only middle aged Brits on holiday were guilty of this terrible crime, but it appears to have infiltrated across the Atlantic! I'm size 11 and never have any problems, but am I the only one who only uses the front half of their foot to depress the clutch with?? Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer. |

Offline | Funny I noticed this today.... Earlier today, my bother tested my Mini for the first time, and one of the things he commented was the lack of pedalspace. It's not that hes feet are exceptionally big - they'r normal I guess for a man. I reckon his shoe size is around size 44-45 (this is a Euro-thingy I hope).. His problem on the other hand was not the lenght-wise - but sideways... his shoes (allrighty - they had big wide soles) could barley fit between the cluchtpedal and the innerwing/fusebox/whatever. Offline | Maybe Compere is Canadian Most of the middle aged Canadians on a Cape Cod holiday wear those sandals complimented by black socks and shorts. Quite a sight indeed. Regarding the foot clearance, I sport size 12 boats and didn't have any problems with my clutching. Offline | OK! Results are in regarding my query regarding possibly-too-confining placement of the clutch support armature! Mini2 community response has settled on the answer: my footwear is ugly. *Actually*, it (sandles/socks) is the beginning of a trend; everyone will be wearing them before long (Nike has registered "JesusCreepers," as I understand it). But! My resolutions are: a) see if I get used to pedal/armature placement, and yes b) buy alternate and more acceptable shoes, and finally c) next pic I post try to keep bodyparts out of the frame... cheers -- j. Offline | Hay ... wait a minute! I'm 6'8" and my US shoe size is 15 (that is equivalent to an EU size 46, I believe) and I had no problems with the manual Cooper and Cooper S that I test drove. We have a CVT Cooper ... so there is obviously no problem there. (You can always get a CVT!) Seriously, I have an S on order that is due (hopefully) in June. My shoe size is the last of my worries .... just get me the car! Bill Sz. |

Offline | I have size 14 US feet and you guys in LHD MINI are lucky. With the RDH MINI the steering goes down between the brake and clutch. Picture of RHD pedals So during my test drive the steering column kept hitting my size 14 thongs. Can’t complaint thou, when I drive a friends old Mini I have to drive with my big toes so my feet will fit. ![]() |
