im not a happy bunny,here is the faults that ive came across with my mini:

1.orange peel effect on paint work
2.sqeaky seats
3.passenger side door not closing correctly,window gets in the way
4.rain getting in through light and seat belt slots,from sunroof
5.steers 2 the left
6.rattling noise from engine when cold
7.complete failure of ecu,cracked throttle body housing and ignition knackered which led to a 3 week fixture in garage...

so what more can i say ..not very impressed at all and ive only had her 3 mths!!!!!

any1 with the same probs!

1. There have been some complaints about the paint. Is yours metallic, by chance?

2. Very common complaint from day one.

3. Your passenger window is supposed to drop 1/2 inch when you close it, then go back up to seal it into the molding. Have the dealer check the sensor and motor assembly in the door. It may be out of adjustment.

4. A few people have reported water leaking in from the antenna mount. You should be able to seal it yourself with some silicone rubber (RTV).

5. Once again, a common complaint. New suspension parts are supposed to correct it.

6. A common complaint, apparently due to oil draining down when it sits and not coming up to pressure quickly enough. Some owners said it sounds like a diesel.

7. Lots of people here have reported ECU problems.

If you use the search engine in Faults and Fixes, you can find the posts on the problems you have.

You sound like you have been very unlucky with your car. Not all of them have all those problems, very few infact.
How do you feel about rejecting it and getting a new one?

MR. BILL have you decided not to buy a Cooper? With all these faults being posted you will never dare place an order.

could i ask what color combo is your car and what month it was built?

Wow! Sorry to hear you've has such bad luck... Is your chassis number 666?!

I had a problem with my passenger window motor....
Firstly, check your fusebox.

Mine was cured by replacing both the passenger window motor, and the voltage regulator.... well, that's how it was explained to me.
I'd hypothesise that if your ECU is also fried, you could have voltage spike problems.

its red all over/red interior and purchased end of feburary,mia,
well i cant really ask for a replacement as the windows have been tinted,its been lowered and a full kicker install!!
