Question I had a really bad squeal from the underside of my car

It only last about 30 secs to a minute but it was horrible. I haven't a clue what it was, anyone have any ideas?

Brakes seizing?

I though a bloody wheel was going to fall off.

Have your mechanic check the right rear brake.
Mine was making a horrible noise before I took it in and found that one of the R/R caliper pistons hadn't retracted and was rubbing on the rotor.
Didn't take long to wear the pad all the way down to metal.
Fortunately my rotor was OK but I did have to pay a chunk of money to replace the pad and caliper (I'm outside the warranty period).
Good luck!

It wasn't that sort of noise. To me it sounded like metal onto metal.

If it's gone and hasn't come back, it might be a stone stuck in a caliper, rubbing on the disk (rotor).

The stone will wear away and then leave or shatter, but it will be noisy until that happens.
