Just wondering if anyone else experiences or knows about the occasional THUMP sound (near the rear) only when the car is idling or after the engine is shut off. Of course, it may occur at other times but seems to be too soft to hear. It is consistent but not bothersome and doesn't seem to affect how the car drives. Because it sounds like it is emanating from the rear speakers, I think it may have something to do with my aftermarket amplifier.

Also, my MCS has a quiet squeal at around 3k rpm only when it is cold (< 40degF) outside for only the first minute or so of driving and then it goes away - anything I should be concerned about? Belts?

There is a "thump" from the ABS system when you start driving ... each start, the system tests one wheel and you can sometimes hear a thump from each rear wheel when it tests that one. As you say it sounds like a speaker noise.
Don't know about a noise when idling or turning engine off ...
