Unhappy Problem Mini

Hi all
I'm glad I've discovered this site and that other mini owners are having problems with their cars too!

Got my mini cooper (red with black roof - gorgeous!) end of November and although I love it to bits, it has been back to the dealer more times (4 in 6 months)than I would like!
It's only done 7000 miles but things just like going wrong.....
Visit 1 - dodgy indicator stick, aircon stopped working (computer fault), squeaky seat
Visit 2 - squeaky seat and battery being drained by mini disc player (so it wouldn't start)
Visit 3 - air bag warning light came on randomly
Visit 4 - gear selector cable broken (couldn't change gear whilst on M6 - very annoying!)
Also rattling boot and jamming front seats! but apart from that - it's great!!!!

Are there any other surprises I should be expecting?!!

Welcome, and spread the word. Do a search of Faults and Fixes for "left pull." BMW has had to make several changes in the front suspension to correct a strong pull to the left. Not all cars do it, some do it slightly and some pull so strongly they are downright dangerous. Many people have it and think "that's the way it is" so they say nothing. The cars built from week 9 on (2002) should have the updated suspension parts and track straight as an arrow. There is a sticky thread that explains how to test for the pull.

Thanks for the advice Mr Bill!

Luckily (touch wood!) it seems that my mini doesn't have the left pull problem. Well, fingers crossed...!
