Hi Folks!

Newbie here!

I wonder if you guys could help me with some much needed advice?

I have an 02 Mini Cooper. I have to say, that to drive it is the best car I've ever had! However I have had a few problems with it.

The most recent one is a horrible rubbing noise coming from the wheel (I know its the wheel because it changes with speed). When i first took it to the dealer, they told me that it "could" be my brakes (they didn't REALLY seem sure!). Having done 48,000 miles, I took the blow and paid £300 to have all pads replaced and rear discs only as recommended by the dealer (I found this a bit strange). Anyhow, I still had the problem! I took it again, this time they changed something to do with the wheel alignment (apparently reports from Goodyear say that the tyres were rubbing) so this was meant to cure the problem. I drove away with no noise, which pleased me. However, a week later the noise comes back, and its getting worse and sounding more horrible by the day.

Here's the tricky bit - I have ordered a new Mini (arrives in August). I am part ex-ing my current mini. My 3rd year warranty runs out on 22nd July, so if I take my car to swap in August, could they throw this problem back at me?

Also, does anybody know what this noise could be, and if it would be covered in the third year of warranty?

PLEASE HELP!!

I have not been tracking discussions/activity, but I could backdate it as most of it is recent - glad you pointed that out, thanks!
