Something wrong with my ABS

There would appear to be something wrong with the ABS on my Cooper. (I do have DSC/ASC+T)

Prior to getting my tyres changed I noticed some oddness. At first it was only when I hadn't driven the car for a couple of hours however, now it happens at any time.

Basically, I can be approaching a junction or set of lights at speeds as little as 10mph. When I tap the brakes to stop, the ABS is kicking in, making the car lurch and then applying normal brakes which brings the car up short.

The first time I thought it must have been loose stones or a patch of oil but having experienced this almost every time I go out in the car and at numerous different junctions, it's obviously something with the brakes or ABS module.

Anyway since getting my tyres changed (to non Run flat Toyo Proxes), the Run flat indicator keeps on coming on if I corner hard drive over a small hump or dip in the road. Ok, I know the sidewalls on the Toyo's are a hell of a lot softer than the RF's so I can appreciate the RFI might come on - EVEN though, I've reset it numerous times and checked ALL 4 tyre pressures (of which are all at 32psi)

The worrying this is that each time the RFI light comes on, the ABS light comes on as well and my ABS is deactivated. Found this out when I locked up both fronts. (There's nothing in the manual that states this is normal)

Also when starting the car, the ABS light comes on as normal but stays illuminated (as well as my warning light on tach) until I've actually started moving.

Any Ideas?

PS. I am booked into BMW on Tuesday

Probably one of the wheel speed sensors is faulty or even dirty.

They control both the ABS/DSC and the flat tyre light so seems quite likely.

BMW have checked the car out and have advised the Pulse Generator is shot and needs a complete replacement plus they have to check ALL of the wiring as the ABS has completely failed.
