Offline | Discoloured Stripes?? Over the last two weeks my silver viper stripes have discoloured to a light browny colour in patches over the bonnet and roof. The front bumper, boot and spoiler are ok. The colour seems to be 'in' the vinyl stripe and does not wash off. i dont want to scrub too hard as it will likely damage the stripe itself. I have tried the usual checklist of troubleshooting;- do I park under a tree? no - rear spoiler is also clean has someone poured/put something on the car? no - nothing visible on paintwork have I followed a car which has splashed/sprayed/exhausted something? no - front bumper is fine have I used the wrong cleaning stuff? no - Autoglym products only, I have used the same stuff for 2 years. no-one else has cleaned the car stripes are dealer fitted items on original delivery anyone got any ideas? Mini dealer was also puzzled and is investigating. I dont want to have to pay out for refitting stripes if it is a bodywork/warranty problem. but if it is vandalism or accidental, I dont want to argue with the dealer when its not their fault. any ideas please post sb/b mc big grin on my face! |

Offline | I have the same problem and have been to sort it out this week but was told that they are only guaranteed for 2 years as viper stripes are classed as accessories! The area manager is looking into it for me at the moment so I'll let you know the outcome. |
