Has anyone else experienced this?

I have a November 04 build Cooper, and when accelerating (light to moderate acceleration ~ about 30% throttle pedal down) from anywhere between 1000rpm to 1600rpm to lifting off at precisely just under 2000rpm (about 1950rpm) my throttle sticks and the car continues to accelerate for about 1 second.

A simple fix would be not to do it, but I find it happens a lot in 2nd gear in stop-start-go traffic conditions without looking at the rev counter. When it happens behind another car in traffic, I have to immediately engage the clutch and brake to ensure I don't 'ram' them.

I've already had the ECU software upgraded, and the ECU is reporting no faults. Has anyone else experienced this strange behaviour?
