Velvet Cooper Replacing Sport Seats

I had too many issues with my original sports seats in my 2002 Cooper, and not enough support from the BMW dealers in the OC area, so after 18 months of having to deal with seats that do not recline back to the upright position, i am removing the seats and installing aftermarket seats (Corbeau) into my Cooper. My question to everyone, is that has anyone replaced their seats yet? I will be using the proper Cooper seat base & slider sold by Corbeau with the new seats, so i hope it is just a simple process. How is the existing seat buckle with the SRS fitted going to be mounted on the new seat frame? do i need to CAREFULLY remove the pyrotechnic device in order to use the existing buckle? or do i need to get another aftermarket buckle? Some advice in the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you do a search on JCW seats there was quite a lot of discussion and good guides on
this subject. You don't have to worry about the pyrotechnics but you will need to take the
car into the dealer afterwards so the absence of the airbags can be programmed else you
will have a warning light on all the time.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

Replacing Sports Seats

Thanks STEVEM3,

i wil look at those recommended by you, hopefully some answers will be there for me.
much appreciated about the info you gave me. about the warning light issue, i may have an uphill battle with the Calfornian dealers here, they are not so helpful after the sale of the car.

Cheers
