Insurance question for US folk...

What are you guys paying for insurance and who do you have insurance through? I was curious because Progressive quoted me $824.50 per half!!! I have a wreck that wasn't my fault and a ticket!! I think it sucks that a wreck that isn't yer fault is stil counted against you! Oh yeah, I'm 24 now but when the car arrives I will be 25. This hasn't detered me from purchasing an indi blue/white S in any way though...

$590 a half from State Farm and living in Chicago, IL. No tickets or accidents for the past 5 years. Oh, by the way I'm about 15 years older than you....

Insurance rates vary widely depending upon a multitude of factors, so you won't get much info by polling others unless you happen upon someone identical to you in your same ZIP code.

Shop around. Or go to a broker who can find you the best rate.

Even so...

My S is arranged to be covered by Mercury.

$491 a half dropped to $423 a half based on my professional degree. Age 26. No tickets or accidents.

If your a member at Costco they have insurance via American Express.

Do your home owners insurance through them and get extra discounts on auto insurance (or visa versa). Also, multiple car discount.

Here is the amazing number: $283 for six months!
