Offline | Mini Cooper S Insurance As I am new to the Mini phenomena and to this web site I thought I would enlist all you knowledgable people out there. If, sorry when I purchase my MCS with JCW can anybody tell me the approx cost for insurance. I know everybody's circumstances with be different, but to start the ball rolling, I am 38 (going on 18), I have been driving for 21 yrs, I have 15+ years NCB. It would be interesting to know an average insurance quote and which provider is the most competitive. Thanks Colin |

Offline | Not really a comparision but, My '52 MCS (JCW Brakes, but not the full kit) with Norwich Union, fully comp. im 31, 5 years no claims, but 1 accident about 18months ago (protected no claims), 30K business miles £750, which, while expensive, is the cheapest I can get, doing high business miles and having a write off is not great for getting low premiums |

Offline | Not really that much of a comparison either but I have a MCS not JCW and im 22 with 2 years no claims, been driving for 4 in a good postcode with no points on my licence. Its £666 with direct line, I'm not superstitious but I wasnt keen on that price but the cheapest I could find. I think it was around £800 for a MCS JCW but I would have thought yours would be around £450 dependnig on your postcode. I have always found Tesco, Direct Line and Elephant to be the cheapest but I'd do a search on this fourm if you go with Elephant as there is a clause in their insurance as to options. I think it is somewhere along the lines of they make you pay more when you declare options but wont reflect them if you have to make a claim, eg in a write off situation. You definately wont regret a Mini tho, have you driven one yet? Are you after the current version or the new one thats coming out soon? |
