Young Drivers!! Try Virgin Insurance

hi guys, just thought id share my experience quickly. Just turned 21 and have got a mini one with pepper pack. I have 3 points and - no claims. Now.. UK insurance limited own many insurance companies, for example they underwrite direct line, churchill, privilage, mini insurance, egg.com and many more. They also underwrite virgin insurance! If you get quotes from all these websites you are likely to get similar quotes but they can vary by as much as £150 even if though it is the same company underwriting the policy. I looked at all the companies long and hard and virgin seem to offer just about the best package. They offer 0%APR if you want to pay your premium monthly and the price includes a courtesy car and the maximum voluntary excess was lower than with the other companies but the overall premium price was still better. I got quoted £850 for the year and at the end of my first year with them they said they will give me 2 years no claims instead of 1 as an introductory offer (as they are new to the insurance market)
After months of searching i just thought i would let you guys know what i found cos it is worth shopping around!

Always have been with Virgin - cheapest by far since I have been 17.

How much does the Cooper sound kit effect insurance with Virgin? Just got a quote which was a little better than others, just wondering how much it would turn out to be with the Cooper sound kit.

i dont have much of a clue how much that would be, if it was fitted from new and was fitted by BMW they might not charge you anything. When i bought my car insurance from them i declared that i had 17" cooper s wheels and an aero spoiler fitted and they didnt add anything onto my premium for those as they were fitted to the car from new. My quote was also £10 cheaper over the phone than it was over the internet which was rather bizarre! I think the cost of mods depends on your age and circumstances..or so i was told by the nice virgin representative on the phone
