Insurance GTT MCS - What do you pay and with who?

So here goes.

I'm planning to upgrade my MCSC with GTT 220 BHP conversion. If I leave the car as standard Esure will insure me for £435 pa including business mileage. If I mod it Greenlight will insure me for £697 pa.

It would be interesting to know what you think to these quotes and are there any other insurers YOU USE that I should consider speaking with.

Last year I paid £680 approx through First Alternative.

Please only comment on MCS cars and with modifacations please
Thanks

Interesting! I'm not going to hate as I appreciate everything is different. The business mileage pushes mine up quite a bit plus I'm guessing you are about 3 years older. I also have to live with a central Birmingham POst Code.
That is good though

Now the not such good news is my wife has just scraped her car along the side of of a honda CRV and they have got a quote of £500 to fix it. That is likely to mess up my quote for sure if we have to run it through the insurers!!!

Ohh, thats bad news if you dont have protected NCD. for £500 its probably easier and cheaper in the long run paying for it out of pocket, if they will let you. Its not good for them to have been in any kind of scrape either, as they would need to declair it too.

I know. I have a number of non fault claims and it did put up my premiums. I have an independant chap going to go and have a look and we'll see where we go for there. What a nightmare though.

I tried Greenlight and found them expensive due mainly to the Business milage. When I mentionned this they said that it really did put up the price due to a history of previous claims.

I have just renewed with MINI - just under £600 for MCS. 2 drivers (2nd driver with 1 fault claim) Mileage 20000 per year!

Bell quotd £350 but having read epoples worries about "Admiral Belephant" thought I might insure like for like!

Paying £1021 on my MCS. (21yo, 18k/yr)

To upgrade to 220bhp will cost £360 for the year. Just out of interest a Works kit is exactly the same as the 220bhp kit
