Offline | Hi Guys, As said I am a newbie to the site, hopefully I am welcome due to the fact that I am not a Mini Owner at present. However i'll continue. *My Question relates to insurance and I would be very greatful for a response. The problem is that I am 17 in 2 months time, I am looking for a Mini One for my First Car & at present my insurance quotes are touching the £2000+ mark. The Cheapest quote I have had so far is £1900 which is quite reasonable but not considering that I am still a student undertaking part-time work. The main question is to ask if there are any other Mini One owners using this sight who are at the age of 17? I would like to find out what price range to look for when purchasing insurance. All help appreciated. Thanks People P.S sorry if the question & the way I have wrote it out is confusing to users. |

Offline | Hello there ![]() I wouldnt have thought you would find much cheaper insurance (i may be wrong), your 17 with no NCB and male (i presume ) wanting insurance on a fairly expensive and 'sporty' car.Considering i paid £1200 at 18, with no NCB, on my ONE. Only now two years later will it be under 1k ![]() To be honest, insurance on any car in your situation is going to be sky high. Good Luck! |

Offline | Alright there mate, Yeah i got my mini One when i was 17 with only 4 months driving experiance under my belt. I found direct line to be the cheapest, although if you wish to mod your car, dont even think direct line because they just dont insure us! There wasnt a lot in it but 2nd cheapest was tesco. Mini's are great cars and wish you all the best in finding the right one, you really have chosen top notch car!! Hope this helps. Alex |

Offline | Similar position age, ncb etc. Get a new R56 Cooper in January - as posted before 1st quote was £18,903 via confused, average was £8,900 but lots wouldn't quote. Now down to between £2000-£3000 don't want to give figures because its a great deal for my age in my own name.Get pass plus = 10% less also getting tracker Echo on mine costly but saving me a bundle on insurance. Defo contact people by phone and wait for them to call you back with a lower quote at our age they want the money of us. I did a head start course at 16 and got a discount. Yours appears a reasonable deal (if you can accept it?) Can't see you getting it any cheaper make sure the insurance accepts any optionns as original equipment. Good Luck Chris |

Offline | Thanks Guys For All Your Replies, Really Appreciated. The Cheapest Quote in Which I Have Been Offered is £1800 with my mum alongside me as the second driver, This Quote was Through "Money-Supermarket" offered by "Emsleigh" insurance I think. £100 off the original quote as I posted above so not much between the two. And Also "Supa-dupa-Cooper" your have a valid point, I got quoted £1500 for a Vauxhall Corsa 1.4! Will Definately Be Sitting Pass Plus, anything to decrease the insurance costs I will take into consideration. I have plans on modding the car aswell so Insurance will probably go up. I am currently still on the hunt for a reasonably good priced Mini-One on ebay and Auto-Trader. My Maximum price I would be around the £7000 Mark So Hopefully Something Comes Up At Least By March 07. Thanks Again for all input, and if I havn't mentioned above please don't feel it's not valid to me. |
