Hi eurobob,

I would strongly advise that you don't keep quite about it, if the ecu was checked after an accident, I believe they could tell it's been remapped. I've got a bluefin that I'm waiting to use after March when my car goes out of warranty. Got a quote from Adrian Flux, and this combined with strut braces, induction kit and quad spots only increased it £50.

that being said it is unlikely they will check your ECU unless they have a reason(such as evidence of travelling at over the standard top speed of your car)

Please don't do anything that could invalidate your insurance cover!

Yes, you could change it back. But, what if it's a serious accident and (God forbid) you've left the scene in an ambulance; you're not really going to get a chance to return it to its normal state of tune before the accident investigation people get a chance to take your car apart. The last thing everyone involved in that accident will need is handing your insurance company a reason to restrict the claims against them, because it's just the sort of out clause they will be looking for in a big claim.

Tigger.
