| Mini Pimp :D | Hi, Have you tried e-sure - only for people with 4 or more years no claims can be insured via them.. You think you're quote are bad, I have a 2006 MCS Chilli, Aero Kit, JCW Wheels etc etc Jst turned 20, 2 weeks ago, (no it wasnt a birthday present!!!!) 3 years no claims, no points, parked on driveway location Birmingham - Excess payable in the event of a crash first £1000 of any claim - £2400 and that had to be paid in one lump sum....if I paid installment across the year it would have cost me £3500.... I have an idea get a multicar policy for your MCS and Mine and insure all 3 of us on them anything over the cheapest above quote I will pay the difference....you will save me a fortune!!! :P |

Offline | It might be worth trying a larger excess. That can make a big difference and anyway you might not want to make a claim unless it was quite big because of the adverse effect on future renewals. |

| Mini Pimp :D | That is always the cheaper solution....Lohen do the grille conversion for the Mini for £90 to convert the grilles to the black plastic so it looks like an aero kit then just purchase aero side skirts....its upto you whether you purchase side skirts bet that wouldnt add a penny to your insurance..... |

| MINI2 Newbie | Cheers for all your help. I rang Adrian Flux and they have quotes £599 so its getting better.(£400 Excess, Pro NCB, Legal Cover) I just cant believe an optional extra can have this much effect on the insurance. And the stupid thing is if i had a MCS GP the insurance would be cheaper. It just a shame i cant afford it. And with Me, the Wife and the little one its even more impractical and a normal mini. I wish there were insurance company which had common sense, and not stupid rules which make it so difficult to get a reasonable insurance quote. The hunt will continue. But I bet once i have found the insuance the car i want will be sold. Andy |

Offline | Refer to the How much do you pay thread, might give an idea as to what others pay etc. Im with Adrian Flux, 21, with 06 MCS, and mine is £850 fully comp, with 3 points, 3 years ncb. I think they will be your best bet. |

Offline | I agree, 24, 6 points, 3 yrs NCB, Brand New Cooper S = £795. (Considering I was paying that for my old 53plate cooper I'm a happy chappy) I was quoted over a grand by my previous insurer!! I vote Adrian Flux all the way!!!! Dave, DS R56 MCS + JCW AERO KIT |
