More Money you must be Kidding!!!!

Well i recently moved house about 300yards around the corner and hadnt rung up adrian flux to change the address on my insurance (1 month after moving) so anyways, i told her the new address and she said right thats a slightly higher risk area that will be an extra £94 please, needless to say i went spare, after i calmed down a bit i said yeh ok its not your fault and paid up.

An extra £94 on top of my already exessive price of £1250!!

Phew.. sorry had to get that of my chest. Rant over.

Has any else ever experienced this??

Dan

£94 for 300 yards difference thats horrific!!!! 1 thing i have noticed when changes to a policy are made when you already have the policy is that they will most of the time come up with a stupid figure because they CAN and you need to keep the policy etc etc!

Doesnt suprise me at all!

It is a complete joke, I am moving to London in September where my car will be in a secure underground parking facility for 98% of the time - I only plan to use it at weekends.

I currently drive to work and back and park on the street at work and at home. Anyway by moving to London my premium increases by almost 100%! From £550 to £1049, and its the same story with everyone I have quoted with, not sure what to do at the moment.

HI, sorry to hear about the raise in your insurance, but I'm curious as to why it's so high on a Mini One??

I live in London and my initial premium on my new Cooper (in 2005) was £740 with "0" years no claims bonus - never owned a car in the UK before.

Ok, maybe you are quite young perhaps, but still it's a Mini One so not a high risk in terms of uncontrollable power.

Maybe you should find another insurer; sounds like you are paying over the odds.

Cheers, Geoff.

maybe u should have paid the fee to end the contract-and looked elsewhere!!-may have been cheaper (normally one months payment to end contract ish!) then shopped around, for insurance at ur new address!

Im 19 with 2 Years NCB but it has a pipercross induction kit and 2 strut braces. This is why its so high if i didnt have the mods it would only be about £900. I am with adrian flux as they were the cheapest by about £300 when i took the policy out in september.

I am now looking at possibly getting a cooper so i will have the extra power but with no mods so hopefully th insurance should be more sensible.

Depends how far through you are the policy though. With low no claims it's rarely beneficial to cancel and have to wait for your next years NCD.

It was acceptable in the 80's

DSapseid, I'm with Adrian Flux too. You'll find £40 of that figure is the admin fee for the alteration of your policy so the true figure is only £58. When I moved about 1/2 mile mine went up £50 but they said they wouldn't charge me the admin fee as I was near the end of my policy anyway.

It was acceptable in the 80's
