Offline | ... according to UK insurance companies! With less than 4-weeks to go before the delivery of my Cooper D Auto, I cannot find an insurance company who can properly quote on it. Cooper Auto, yes. Cooper D, yes. Cooper D Auto? No such car! I'm hoping that when I get a registration number this problem will go away! Has anyone else out there got a Cooper D auto, or has managed to get a quote? |

| What's Next? | Getting a registration number won't make your quest to find insurance any easier I'm afraid, as it only goes to the identity of the car after it is registered. Insurance companies are renowned for taking ages to get new models on their system, so all you can do is give them a couple of weeks... ...or tell them it's not your problem that they are behind the times, and that if they want your business they'll find the Cooper D Automatic! ![]() |

Offline | I went through the new Tesco compare site, and it came up with Prudential who gave me a quote of £190. I did an experiement, and the price was the same for a Cooper [petrol] auto, or a Cooper D manual, both with Pepper pack. Just to put my quote in context, I'm a 40 year old with a totally clean record, doing 10000 business miles a year, with a car worth £18,000 |

Offline | I did! They told me on the phone there's no difference between a Cooper D manual or auto. They got my cover note out very fast too. I've also found out that Prudential is just another front for Churchill! |

Offline | Prudential It is a standard car. i just told them it had a Pepper pack. I told them it's worth £18,000 but the car is covered up to a value of £25,000 anyway. They also will replace it with a new car if it is written off in the first year. My car is now waiting at the dealer as it arrived early! However, it's not due to be delivered to me until next Monday. |
