well i am with admiral and i pay £1350 fully comp on my own insurance

i am 20 with 1 years no claims

my excess total is 500

on a 2002 mini cooper s

i dont comute to work as i work at the same place as my brother
and will only do around 5000 miles a year

also adding my dad as a named driver decreased it by a few hundred pounds because he has never had an accident and has been driving 30 years

does this help?

hi,

i have to renew soon and it looks like it will cost me more this year for some reason!

if you add a parent or any adult it drops your premium, i added my mum (she hardly ever drives it as i dont even live at home anymore) and it dropped my premium by a few hundred quid, if i remember rightlyh it saved me 150 quid more than by adding my dad!

there are loads of ways to try and reduce it, dont overestimate your annual mileage, look at where you keep it overnight etc.

i found moneysavingexpert website useful, they have a section on ways to get the cheapest car insurance.
