Be very careful being a nominated driver on an insurance policy where you are *actually* the main driver. This is fraud and could result in an invalid insurance policy.
Have a search on google for Insurance Fronting

direct line car insurance could be worth a look, named drivers can earn there own no claims discount so this can be great for young people that find it had to get insurance.They seem to have many options available in their policys.

I'm 20, no 'no claims bonus' and I just got a quote off of Bell for £1600 for a Cooper.

Its cheaper when I put my dad down as a named driver

If it's any help, I'm 21 and have insurance on a MSC (non JCW) It's nto exactly cheap, but it's cheaper than my old car. I'm in Ireland, too
