Cooper S Insurance

I'm sure this has been covered before, but the search doesn't seem to be working properly, so....

What kind of insurance premiums are you guys paying ? I've just done my first enquiries online and I'm pretty shocked to find that I was quoted over £1200 ! I don't think I'm an unusual risk - 32, 3 years no claims, 3 points for speeding, SDP fully-comp cover, 1 named driver, low-crime area, private driveway parking.

What companies are best to try ?

I'm 27, with no points, but an accident 34 months ago, otherwise the same, and my quotes have been in the region of £650 from mini insurance, elephant etc.

That's too expensive.
I'm 33, 3 points for speeding, Max NCD and only paying £650, and I live in London
I'm using BMW/MINI insurance as they gave me the best quote

I've got a quote around about £600 for my forthcoming MCS. 31, driveway in Scotland, no accidents for years and 3 years NCD. Staff insurance scheme, but I'm also going to give Adrian Flux a try (previously used them, lot of hassle - but mucho competitive rates! ). They specialise in modded or performance vehicles...

I know the Cooper S will be mor. My last car was group 15, so I've been there before (gulp)

I came out of a company car 2 years ago, so had no no - claims history apart from a letter from my previous employer to say I had been claim free for 8 years. If my car had turned up in November like originally stated when I ordered back in Feb I would of been stuffed. Luckly my car was made at the end of Aug and I got it on the 1st Sep so the letter was only just valid.

It took me two days and found that some insurers would take it and others would not.

The quotes for a 32, single male, living with partner, fully comp, class 1 businnes use, 15,000 miles per year and one other named driver ranged from £1800 to £412.

Bell Direct 0880 140 180 - seem to be very professional.

I don't know what others think but car insurance here is a mine field - there is no level playing ground. You have to ring around because certain companies at certain times will be going for market share of age group, gender and area where you live. You will also be disciminated against because of your status which at times I think is very unfair.

Helpful Wife

I have tried a couple of online quote engines, and have noticed that if I put my wife on as named driver, my premium reduces...
Wow - cooking, cleaning, ironing and now cheaper car insurance... what a top wife !!
