Smart Repair Insurance

Anyone got it / used it for a claim?

£350 for life of the car -

£500 per claim
£10 excess per claim
£3000 aggregate.

Repairs dents, scratches, scuffs etc.

No website - just offered by dealer at last minute (I get MCS tomorrow).

Dealers have a disc on their desk to show the size of repair included (it's about 4" round).

Surely it depends on how long you expect to keep the car for, and how likely it is for you to pick up minor damage. I've only managed to pick up 3-4 dings/scuffs in 14 years of driving and at 70-80 a pop it wouldn't be worth it for me.

wouldn't waste my money on that, seems like a lot. If you shop around you can get small dents and scratches done for about £45 each

Still you only need 10 chips/dents/kerbing on the car for its life to cover the initial outlay... (Based on each repair costing £45 without the cover, £10 excess if you have the cover)

I'd be willing to bet that the average car gets more than 10 chips/dents/kerbings in 3 years never mind its life!...
