Insurance: MINI Insurance V BMW Insurance

Did anyone know there was a difference?

Following my meeting with the transit I have had to start procedings via BMW Accident Management.

I have BMW Insurance.

It appears that BMW Insurance is BETTER than MINI insurance. Still BMW Insurance (I didn't really know about MINI insurance) was the cheapest I could find!

Did anyone else know the difference?

For example, I have a loan car courtesy of BMW Insurance, MINI Insurance apparantly do not offer this free service?!

Hmmmmmm....

I'm totally confused now
I have received insurance certificates for my MCS both in MINI insurances name and in BMW insurances name. The reason is that I have two is that one was really delayed in the post so they sent out another, but this one was in BMWs name???
I'm going to go home and read the small print again.

MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime

I too was confused, I even said to accident management, 'aren't they the same' but he said no, and he looked on his records to find I had BMW insurance.

I thought you did get a loan car. The following is from the MINI.co.uk web site. It does say you get a loan car but there are circumstances. It is surprising though if their are diferences between BMW and MINI insurance.

quote.......................

MINI COVER
This competitive insurance package has been designed with MINI in mind.
If you do have a bump or scrape you can rest assured that MINI Cover will make sure both you and your MINI will be in the best of hands.

You see, MINI Cover works in conjunction with the MINI Accident Management team so you don't have to worry about the usual post-scrape hassles.

Here's what you get:

• Assurance that your MINI will be repaired by trained MINI technicians at a MINI Approved Bodyshop, using only original MINI parts.
• If your car is repairable, MINI Cover will give you a courtesy car* while it's being fixed though they'll make sure that your MINI is back on the road again as soon as possible.
• Audio equipment cover up to £1,000
• Personal possession cover up to £100
• Personal accident cover up to £5,000
• Legal cover up to £25,000 for motor related claims**.

If you're a first time driver you could qualify for an introductory discount up to 30%***. And if you're an ex-company car driver MINI Cover can even offer up to 65% No Claims Discount too!

Call 0870 024 6464 for a quotation (lines are open 8am-8pm weekdays, and 9am-5pm Saturdays) or click on the Quote & Buy button below and you'll be able to get a quote for cover which you can buy on-line!

*The courtesy car may not be a MINI and is subject to driver status and individual incident circumstances. Use of a courtesy car is in addition to the 2 day loan car cover you'll receive if your MINI is covered by MINI Emergency Service (and your MINI was recovered due to being immobilised)
**This service is provided by MINI Accident Management.
***Subject to status
This is only a summary of cover provided. See your policy for full details.

According to Accident Management (although I will call them again now!) BMW Insurance allows MAX 21 days of free courtesy car, MINI insurance only offers it while your car is being repaired. So BMW covers you if it's not being repaired but cant be driven, MINI covers you only while it's being recovered?

I think even BMW/MINI are confused about this!?
