Boston Area Mini Insurance Prices

Just wondering about insurance prices in the Boston area on the Mini Cooper...

I'm considering a 2003 BRG Cooper and I live in Medford just North of Boston. The cost of insurance will be a major decision factor in my getting a mini or not as I am currently step 10 due to an unfortunate speeding ticket last year.

Frankly, I'm having a hard time getting insurance quotes on the MINI. No one has replied to my inquiries including my current carrier.

I know there are many factors involved in determining costs but any information you have is welcomed.

I'm 26, female, been driving 10 yrs with perfect record until last year. Also, getting married this month.

When you reply would you post who your carrier is?

Also any options that you know lowered your quote please give those too. Thanks!

I'm in Cambridge. Clean driving record, 2 drivers, Commonwealth Insurance.

With $500 deductible on collision and comprehensive (no ded. on glass) my premium is about $1300/year.

If I add my 16 yr. old daughter to the policy, it jumps to over $2600. Ouch.

When I see the rates other areas of the country pay it gives me one more reason I'm thankful I live in the south. I pay only $529 for the MCS for my wife and myself the total on my three vehicles with full coverage (durango, prism and MCS) is only $1850 per year.

$946 garaged on the Cape in South Dennis w/ $500 deductible I have 30 days of substitute transportation that adds $68- annually.
