SO, WHats the big difference about Liverpool Victoria? Well, its probably becaue they are a 'Friendly' society, that is, they are not beholding to shareholders etc..... Profit is NOT their driving force - go check them out, they do lots of insurance and are a big company, but they operate differently from ANY OTHER insurance company - thats why they are cheaper.... I suspect they are probably the fairest, most honest company in the UK. 'Honest' and 'Insurance company' probably do not belong together....... but hey, they really are different. I AM NOT associated with Liverpool Victoria in any way.

For probably the last year I've heard a lot about Liverpool Victoria being one of the most competitive insurers around, but I got a quote from them today to cover my Cooper S and it was over £150 more expensive than with MINI. BTW MINI's quote was nearly £200 more expensive than what I paid this time last year with Bell Direct(and b4 anyone mentions it, I know they're affiliated with dodgy old Elephant... that's why I'm looking for a new insurer) . I'm a year older, with another year's NCB - why it go up so much? ? :apple: :white:

My mates just had his car stolen and has hence dealt with their claims department - they gave him a good payout but i dont think they pay out for the mods tho...... I think ill get a quote from em on renewal A Black One to a VX220 .. onto a 250bhp Focus RS . . . and now an 05 MCS

Hi All, I've been with Liverpool Victoria aka Frizzell Insurance for a good few years now. Had other cars insured with them and have gone through claims with them. They seemed to be very efficient and keen to get everything sorted promptly. I've now got my MCS insured with them again this year and they were the best quote by about £100. That may be due to me being a member of the CSMA, who get discount with frizzell. I was concerned after reading posts on here about whether these companies cover stuff like the chilli pack, and other options. I queried them on this and they told me similar to what else I've read here. Evidence of the options, i.e. dealer printout of options on car, photos etc. I didn't touch on modifications, as I don't have any insurance affecting mods YET. Though I did mention the aftermarket stripes and was told, as others have been, to photograph them after telling them. Seems like a good idea to get photos of your car and it's options/mods. Might even be worth getting two lots done and sending your insurer some..? You can say for sure then that they were informed of all options / mods and were even sent photos. Just makes life easy, eh..?!! They also automatically cover you for travel in Europe, with a Spanish bail bond even on the back of the certificate..! Only drawback I've found, just lately when I've rang for my renewal quote, they took a looong time to answer the phone. So there we go..... Nige. EB/W Cooper S, leather, 16" x-lites, climate, sunroof, heated seats, MFSW, Alpine CD. Whalen Shifter, Bonnet stripes, tints all round. Normally to be found in the outside lane of the M20.

This thread interested me as i have had a couple of mods done to my car so i checked their website and was surprised to see the following statement whislt going through the buy online routine:-"We will not insure: Cars with performance enhancing modifications" So, to you people who have their insurance i would query it with them Bonnie Scotland

I'm insured with Liv Vic. Started off with a standard car and was insured for just over £700 including unlimited business mileage travel back and fore to more than one place of work and i had 13 points they were the cheapest around. I'm down to 3 now. A few months into my policy i very unfortantly had to make a claim, they were fantastic, i took the car to BMW who faxed them a quote and even thought they wernt on their approved repairers list they ok'd the work on my car straight away and even followed it up with a call to see if i was happy with the work. Then i had my car modded with a Hartge pack, i paid an extra £20 over 10 months for the increase in performance (50bhp) and i've got a like for like policy, in other words they wouldnt just give me a standard car they would pay out for me to get the same car again to the same spec. Yes its all on the policy. They also provide legal cover and european cover if required. About 2 months ago i added my Golf GTi to my policy, they wanted an extra £17 a month for social domestic and pleasure again fully comp, replace to market value - unmodded car. I really don't think theres much more i can try and do other than total my car to check out their credentials!!! Hope this helps, Nic
