Anyone recommend insures ?
I've had quotes from £890 to £395 ,however the cheapest one (Sainsburys) then wanted to charge extra for Chilli pack.

Thanks

Have you tried Tesco? I had a quote for £550.

Elephant were v cheap for me, unlike MINI who wanted £750 excess, £1500 a year.
They didn't like my total lack of noclaims!

Tesco had down a MCS and MCS with chill as two seperate model choices. I can see why though cos its almost a whole new trim level with the chilli on.

Im 23 was quoted £830 by egg with full no claims. Will look around a bit more when i get it in september. Think sainsburys wont touch u if u have a 3 points on ur licence.

Stay well clear of Elephant!! They only cover you for a std no extras MINI, any thing I mean anything extra you add even if its factory fit will not be covered, you are only covered for the base model, stay away from them I tell you! Unless you just get a base model.

Directline and Tesco have been the cheapest for me, but I'm looking at a £1700 premium come September for a JCW MCS.

Just make sure you are covered for the stuff you have on your car, a few insurers like Elephant and Admiral say yes to insuraning you and blah blah to you having chilli pack, but if you have an accident that writes off your vehicle or anything that means you lose you vehicle, thjey will only pay out the base price, even if you state your car is worth 19000 with factory options.

So beware and make sure you are fully covered

The cheapest quote I got was from Admiral. Quote was just over £700 and being only 23 I thought was pretty good (2 years NCD). Some quotes I got were as high as £3000. I found Admiral using www.confused.com.

Its pretty standard to ask more for the Chili pack because it adds considerable value to the car - bigger alloys, A/C etc.

Dhm like I've said in my other posts stay away from Elephant and Admiral, unless you haven't added any options to you car, come accident time these companies will only pay out for a bog standard model, so not the best for your money. READ THE SMALL PRINT

Very true, I ditched admiral when I got my Cooper for that very reason, stupid small print, but 100% accurate. They (in the T&Cs) will only pay for the replacement of basic, standard parts. They will insure a car with extras, but wont pay out for them. They even charge extra for the extras they wont pay for!!

I have only just turned 20 and choose Mini's own insurance for the following reasons, it was the cheapest i could find at £1382 Fully comp i have only one years no claims and also three points for speeding. The Mini has many extras on it but all of them are covered within the quote. I even took out the Gap policy to make sure i could get all my money back if need be
