| MINI2 Newbie | I tell you, I am an IT Contractor and so I get about the country a bit... Being 21, car insurance is bloody stupid anyway, but I got the shock of my life this morning when I did a quote, just out of interest on a BMW 320d SE Touring... Up in Bradford, this car, with me being 21 with just the 1 years no claims discount, parked on a private driveway, taking into account I had a bump in 1999, came to almost £2400!!?!?!?!?!?! Yes, have a mild heart attack!! I did! BUT 8)7 ... when I did a quote on my postcode I am living at down here in Eastleigh, near Southampton, parked on the street... it came to £1623.00!!! :O= How can anybody justify an £800 difference on a postcode... AND the car would bloody well be parked on a private, locked driveway in Bradford!!! The area I live in up there if nice and quiet... no trouble... EVER!!! Fume............... |( Highly not impressed... I am wondering... if I ring my current insurance company and tell them I have moved postcodes... if they will lower my payments... NOT LIKELY I BET!!! To the point... I am wondering how much difference this is going to make to the insurance for a MINI Cooper??? I will only be at this address for a matter of 3/6 months... and so, which address should I give for cheaper insurance etc?!?!? Hmmm... I am not liking the premium for stating my 'home' address!! :? *CONFUSED* Grrrrrrr... any advice out there?!? Please!!!! |

| MINI2 Newbie | Well... a bit of better news... I rang up my current insurer and they have given me a refund just for moving to a different address!! Considering my insurance was just shy of £700 this year, they have given me a refund of £180!!!! That is like a 25% Refund!! I tell you - I cannot complain at that!! Mmmmmmmmmmm....
