Offline | Adrian Flux- a warning After 20 years with insuring directly with insurers or via large brokers eg AA, I took a slightly cheaper quote (only £ 80) for 2 vehicles with Adrian Flux in July and have regretted it ever since. I have had so many problems with them, I cannot list them all, but most definitely advise anyone who is taking cover to confirm everything in writing - they seem to c*ck up anything agreed verbally. A particular warning, though, is that they seem to have a deliberate-profit making strategy of insisting cover is cancelled at the earliest opportunity, thus earning themselves & their insurer a fat short period charge as well as a cancelation charge. To restart the cover, you go back in the loop, and get ready to be fleeced all over again. Never expect a phone call to be returned, be prepared to wait on hold however long you like, do expect details to be muddled between policies - you name it, they will mess it up! Cooper power, Cooper S torque, 48 mpg diesel - thank you Ray West |

Offline | I insured with Flux years ago. I remember their fee structure for amendments - £25 for a day trip to europe etc. I wouldn't have minded if the Insurer had imposed a charge but it was Flux's own admin charge. Add a driver for a day - £25 charge. ![]() I now insure under a family fleet and my broker really understands our requirements. I've never had to pay for any amendments, temporary cover or european cover. Offline | I have been with AF for three years now, I have named every mod I have done to my car and they have noted it, I proved this by phoning and asking what mods they have got listed and they read them back to me, My policy only notes that the car is modified and is not listed of mods, I have had no claims with them so I would not know how they perform and now you have got me thinking, thanks for the info..... |

Offline | I agree that AF are crap brokers to deal with. I changed and went to Hastings Direct - incredibly cheap compared to loads of brokers I called for quotes. I came across Hastings Direct through a reccomendation made by More Than insurance who couldn't get me a good deal and so passed me on to their associate company to see what they could do instead. I saved £200 inthe process. I would throughly reccomend Hastings. |

Offline | We had problems with them when we had a kit car. They had small print that said the car was only insured if it was locked and the roof was on. But we did not find out until we got the policy. As this was a car specifically for driving without the roof, and all you had to do was unzip the window and open the door from the inside anyway this seemed over the top. We left them because we did not want the hassle of having to attach / install the soft top out of the boot every time we stopped. Especially as it had an immobiliser and tracker anyway. |

Offline | We got a quote from them for our Classic Mini a couple of years ago. They were hard work on the phone, and a cheap starting quote soon became a lot less attractive looking once we got a total figure out of them. When the paperwork came through it really looked as if all they were interested in was selling a finance package at extortionate rates to pay for it all. Needless to say we didn't follow it up.
